Spotify Song Requests Now Added to Queue
SAMMI Spotify » Devlog
Spotify extension has been updated to add all song requests to your current queue instead of a playlist now.
You will need to replace the deck as lots of buttons have been modified, so make sure you back up any custom made buttons.
- Download the new file
- Install the extension
- When SAMMI asks you whether you want to replace your deck, press Yes.
You do not need to set up your Song Request Playlist anymore. All song requests tracks will be added to your queue. Your queue will be now permanently displayed as OBS overlay (you can limit the amount of tracks displayed).
Note: Spotify API is buggy when it comes to retrieving your current queue. Sometimes it only displays the next 2 tracks and sometimes it retrieves them all. Once Spotify fixes their API, the behavior should be consistent.

There's a problem where the request queue has a bunch of songs that don't play or were requested in it.
IF the Spotify queue shows the requested songs but they don’t play, that’s likely a problem with Spotify - is it possible they might not be available for your region maybe?
The problem is rather that the queue is dropping in random songs or looping the name of the played song over and over again in the visual, instead of leaving it an empty queue.
The extension only adds the track to the queue once when requested, it uses the official Spotify API endpoint for that. However it’s possible Spotify does not know how to go back to the previously played playlist once it’s added to the queue. I would suggest trying to add a track that’s not in your playlist manually to the queue and see if the same happens.
This is still what it looks like, and it only ever adds to the queue in spotify if it's actually meant to be added to the playlist. Doesn't show the artist on the song playing, either.
