Important update
I’ve modified the extension to prevent ‘too many requests’ 429 error. I believe Spotify has further reduced the quota to call the API and some users might be getting blocked from using it altogether.
Please update to the newest version to prevent this from happening in the first place.
Getting ’Spotify SyntaxError: Unexpected token T in JSON message
Please try running your Transmitter in a browser outside of OBS (Chrome). Initiate the extension, press F12 in your browser and look at the Console tab. Do you see a ‘GET https://api.spotify.com/v/me/player 429 error’ (the 429 is important)?
ERROR 429 FIX
You can temporarily install the spotify-proxy.lbe extension instead. When it asks you if you want to override the file, press yes.
It is highly RECOMMENDED to switch back to the original spotify-default.lbe extension once your IP is unblocked and therefore it doesn’t need to route all the requests through a proxy server anymore. This should not take more than a few days. Simply install the spotify-default.lbe extension and override it again.
IF YOU SEE ANY OTHER ERROR THAN 429
Your token or credentials are wrong. Make sure you copied it right and did NOT wrap it in double quotes.
